Ashish Saxena, President of UrbanPiper, shared his perspective on the decision to unify Ordermark into the UrbanPiper platform, discussing the thought process behind the move and what excites him about the restaurant market in the U.S. and Canada.

I believe that feeding people is the most amazing business in the world. Having run a restaurant myself, I know firsthand the unique satisfaction that comes with it: the joy, the pride, and yes, the humbling chaos that becomes part of everyday life.
Technology solves many operational challenges, yet adoption in the restaurant industry remains low. Seeing this firsthand inspired me to join UrbanPiper, where we’re dedicated to building tech solutions for restaurateurs worldwide. With modern tools available at our fingertips, we can simplify these daily complexities in many ways.
Roughly a year ago, when we acquired Ordermark, we saw the potential in combining its offerings with the UrbanPiper platform, built with the depth and flexibility to support restaurants of all sizes across the globe. Introducing its enhanced capabilities would immensely benefit Ordermark’s customers and the broader U.S. restaurant.
However, to bring this potential to life, we knew we had to first understand the U.S. market realities. Over the past year, we’ve been on the ground, learning directly from the restaurant community. We listened closely to their pain points, unique needs, and how we could best support them.
With the merger of Ordermark with UrbanPiper now complete, we’ve crafted something that captures the best of both worlds, a platform built on insight and innovation, which brings me to this moment:
I am proud to announce that “Ordermark by UrbanPiper” is now simply “UrbanPiper” across the globe.
With this rebranding, we’re also officially launching our UrbanPiper platform in the U.S., bringing restaurants greater flexibility, powerful reporting, integrations with over 350 point-of-sale systems, and operational control that adapts as their business grows.
We have a strong team on the ground, fully dedicated to supporting this move and blending Ordermark’s legacy with UrbanPiper’s forward-looking technology and global perspective.
It’s exciting to see many of our existing Ordermark by UrbanPiper customers already embracing the UrbanPiper platform. They’re experiencing the global standards and capabilities that UrbanPiper brings, and from my conversations with them, I know they’re seeing the difference.
